Case Study
Our heritage roofing team recently took on the challenge of re-roofing a stunning Grade II* listed building in Gomersal. Their expertise was key in preserving the historic charm of this beautiful property where they meticulously selected materials that matched the original roof, ensuring that every detail was in line with heritage standards.
Our team worked diligently to maintain the architectural integrity while enhancing the building’s durability. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and craftsmanship, which not only safeguarded a piece of history but also extended its legacy for future generations to appreciate.
Formally known as the “Manor House” in Gomersal, near Bradford/Leeds was then renamed” “Peel House” and since been divided into three individual properties which are all Grade II* Listed.
Our client wanted to preserve the rich heritage of this Grade 2 star building while also boosting its energy efficiency. Since we couldn’t access the roof voids from inside, we had to remove the stone slates to insulate the roof.
We discovered that the coping stones on the gable ends had no mortar, causing water to seep in. Additionally, the unique original stone slate valleys were leaking.
To top it off, the central box gutter had been poorly relined with rubber by a previous company. Our team was on hand to set things right!
We’re thrilled to share the incredible work we’ve done to preserve the historic charm of this beloved building while enhancing its performance and longevity.
After eight weeks of dedicated work, completed in January 2025, our efforts have not only resolved existing issues but also preserved this historical gem for future generations to enjoy.
